Study of the ski boot manufacturing process and the different plastics used.
Materials used in Bootfitting and their benefits.
CUSTOM INSOLE MANUFACTURING (20%)
Manufacturing custom insoles using Modulo materials.
Cristair fabrication and insole stabilization techniques.
PRACTICAL WORKSHOPS (40%)
Ski boot shell grinding.
Canting: demonstration, use of measuring tools, and angle adjustments.
Work on liners, tongues, shell modifications, and boot adjustment parameters.
Case studies in Bootfitting.
Maintenance of machines and workshop equipment.
Thermoforming of shin protectors.
Learning Objectives
- Understand advanced foot anatomy and biomechanics, as well as the challenges and constraints within a ski boot.
- Understand the latest ski boot plastics, materials, and the components used in Bootfitting.
- Be able to manufacture custom Modulo insoles.
- Master shell grinding and modification techniques, as well as liner and tongue customization.
- Be able to perform ski boot canting and adjust the various boot fitting parameters.
