TRAIL-RUNNING CULTURE (10%)

History of the trail, the athletes, its ecosystem and the stakeholders.

Trail market data and studies.

FOOT ANATOMY AND BIOMECANICS (20%)

Basic knowledge: anatomy, morphotype, dimension, analysis.

Foot analysis.

Preparation and protection of the foot in trail and ultra trail.

BALANCE PROFILES AND STRIDE FACTORS (30%)

Explainer of the different factors of stride in trail running.

The different equilibrium profiles: land/air.

Link between shoe proposals and balance profiles.

COMFORT SOLUTIONS (20%)

Construction of trail running shoes and state of play of the market.

Technical contributions on comfort solutions: insoles / socks and accessories

WORKSHOPS (20%)

Learning and handling of foot analysis tools (mechanical or digital) with scenarios.

In-live gait analysis Learning lacing techniques. 

Cutting and customizing sole.

Learning Objectives
  1. To know the biomechanics and anatomy of the foot, their main problems and some solutions,  always with the aim of comfort and performance in trail running.
  2. To know the runner’s bobology and the appropriate responses and to educate on the preparation and protection of the foot in trail and ultra trail: before, during, after.
  3. Arguing about the different factors of stride: angle of eversion, horizontal, vertical impact, ground contact time, angle, running cycle...
  4. Knowing how to identify the balance profiles and motor preferences of a trail runner.
  5. Know the construction of a trail running shoe the different footwear volumes and the characteristics of the brands on the market.
  6. Be able to carry out the steps of the sale of the shoe and meet the needs of the customer in order to offer adapted comfort solutions.
  7. Carry out specific lacing, customization of pre- molded soles and shoe deformations and shoefitting.
  8. Know the constructions and benefits of a technical sock in trail running.
